The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa (SHRT) is proud to be the Pink Premier Sponsor for the second year in a row with Making Strides against Breast Cancer here in Hillsborough County.

Dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, SHRT’s partnership with the American Cancer Society has been extremely valuable to our employees and guests, along with friends and families of our participants.

This very important county-wide event is one of the many things we do for the month of Pinktober®, a global Hard Rock International initiative. In addition, our Hollywood sister property in South Florida is also the Premier Sponsor for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer this year!

Each year our goal is to raise MORE for the prevention, education and research of fighting this deadly disease. Last year we donated nearly $90,000 to help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer just at Hard Rock Tampa alone, through all of our Pinktober® efforts which include: retail, hotel, food and beverage and the sponsorship of the MSABC walk.

We were also recognized by the City of Tampa for our month-long efforts and Mayor Bob Buckhorn even issued us a Proclamation by naming October Pinktober® month last year, and we hope he does this again for us.

Last year SHRT had 258 team members walk and we represented the largest single walk team in the field.

We came together as a team and raised $87,176 for the Pinktober® campaign last year, which far exceeded the $65,000 raised in 2012. SHRT was the second-highest fund-raising team out of 468 teams last year collecting $18,775.

This is a wonderful cause that impacts many of our loved ones and at the end of the day we are here to contribute to research, prevention and a cure.
