If there’s one thing we can say about August’s Charity of the Month, it’s that they offer an unparalleled love and support for our troops…and for that we thank them. We introduce to you the Stano Foundation, a nonprofit organization that puts the ‘care’ in ‘care package’.

Founded in June 2015, Paula Stano started this organization in efforts to provide support to deployed troops. A military mom to her son in the marines, he served as her inspiration to launching this thoughtful initiative.

“Paula would like to thank her son as he is the inspiration behind this organization.  He has taught her how to be a better person each and every day.  He always told her she couldn’t save the world but she felt it was her duty to help serve those who serve us.  If Paula can help just one person at a time, and inspire someone else to do the same, slowly it will work and together we can.  Our military should never feel forgotten and without support.”

Care Package program

The Stano Foundation took on the motto of “We put the care back in care packages” and always ask care package recipients what they need or want the most and try to incorporate at least three of their wants into their personalized package. Care packages are sent out quarterly regardless of branch or where the military member is stationed or deployed. They also follow up with all of their care package recipients to keep the packages personalized. These gifts provide our deployed service members a little piece of home while they’re away from their families, friends and loved ones.

The heroes of the Stano Foundation don’t stop there. They also launched the Veteran Gratitude Gift Program and have delivered a total of 175 gifts to veterans. They are always accepting volunteers and donations. For more information about how to help, visit here.

You can also help raise funds by attending our music-themed trivia in the Hard Rock Cafe! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the charity.
