Read Why Today is a Dreamy Day in Elvis History: Music Monday

Today, on March 23 we celebrate a noteworthy date in rock history.

In 1961 Elvis Presley recorded “Rock-a-Hula Baby” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which some consider to be two of the stars most popular songs. The dreamy hits landed in the number one spot on the US charts and remained there for a record breaking 20 weeks (record has since been broken).

On this day in 1977 Elvis began, what would be his last tour, at Arizona State University. The legend played 50 shows before he sadly passed away on August 16, 1977. He would have started touring again August 17. elvis

The jacket pictured was a military jacket that Elvis Presley wore during a time when he was drafted into the army and stationed in Germany.

The Seminole Hard Rock Tampa continues his legend by showcasing the King of Rock and Roll’s memorabilia throughout the casino, particularly around the Hard Rock Cafe.

The pink bedazzled jumpsuit was made for Elvis Presley in the early 70s.

To find more memorabilia around the casino, please be sure to stop by our interactive memorabilia wall that is conveniently located in the Hard Rock Cafe!
