If you’re not familiar with the history of this holiday, here’s a quick lesson: Cinco de Mayo celebrates the victory of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican war in 1862.

Interestingly enough, this is relatively a minor holiday in Mexico, whereas in the United States, the holiday has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
