Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa has begun its month-long annual breast cancer awareness campaign – PINKTOBER®.

This will be the ninth year of Seminole Hard Rock Tampa’s involvement with the cause. Last year, the property raised more than $47,000 during its PINKTOBER® program to help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer.

Yesterday, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa’s Vice President of Marketing David DeMontmollin and Seminole Hard Rock Calendar Girl Angel Branesky accepted a Proclamation from City of Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn which declared October PINKTOBER® month.

A major component of PINKTOBER® will once again be the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, scheduled for Saturday, October 22, at Tampa’s Amalie Arena. Like previous years, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa will enter a team for the walk and be the $50,000 Pink Premier Sponsor.

The property will also have three team members – JP Taylor, Bret Freeman and Chef Michael Balles – participating in Making Strides Tampa “Real Men Wear Pink.”

In addition to its support of the walk, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa will host a Making Strides event at the Tampa Bay Rowdies game on Wednesday, October 5, and a Making Strides mixer in Grey Salt on Monday, October 10.

Throughout the month, the property will also be selling limited edition earbuds in its retail shops for $10 with 100 percent of the proceeds generated going to the American Cancer Society.

Open to the public, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa will host an American Cancer Society benefit event on Thursday, October 27, featuring a charity slot tournament, red carpet ceremony, concert by Eden Shireen and a check presentation of funds raised for the month.

The slot tournament has an entry fee of $10 and 50 percent of those proceeds will be donated to the charity and 50 percent to the prize pool. Tickets can be purchased at the Rock Shop or upon entry of the event.
